Brian Daniel Construction, Inc. is a licensed residential and commercial building contractor in the State of North Carolina. The company focuses on custom residential home construction, with renovation projects as an additional feature.
Brian Daniel, owner and company president, has a long history in the building industry. Brian grew up in Carteret County working in the family business with his father, an architect and residential contractor. Brian graduated in 1991 from the Department of Construction Management at East Carolina University, where he received a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Drafting and Design.
After college, Brian worked for a local civil engineering firm for four years, then spent 15 years as a project manager for two local contractors. He has completed over 125 residential projects, ranging from minor renovations to 6000 square foot custom homes to multifamily condominium buildings. His commercial projects have included office buildings, restaurant renovations, an industrial facility, and a subdivision clubhouse and amenities.
Has in-house design capabilities—can modify an existing plan to meet homeowner's specifications, or can create a new plan (uses SoftPlan Architectural Design Software).
Takes the time to provide a detailed estimate tailored to the individual homeowner's specifications. That process allows him to give as accurate a price as possible and reduces unnecessary and costly change order fees, while most other contractors just offer a square foot price.
Has excellent working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors (also other professionals such as engineers, building inspectors, realtors, bankers), most of whom he has been using for many years.
Provides excellent customer service—willing to spend a great deal of time with clients in the planning phase as well as throughout the construction process and afterwards, if needed.
Has local roots—intimate knowlege of the area—knows which building materials and practices are best suited to the coastal environment—helps in terms of competing with out-of-town builders who may not know how the building codes apply to this area.
Has a strong understanding of site development processes and regulations that he developed while working for a civil engineering firm after college—i.e., if a potential client comes to him with a lot and a set of plans, he can tell them if the plan will work on that lot, and if not, what can be done to make it work.
Offers competitive pricing because of low overhead costs.
Is commited to changing with the times, expanding his knowledge base, including incorporating "green" building practices, among others.
Has very high standards for the quality of his work.
Brian Daniel Construction, Inc. is a member of the National Home Builders as well as the Carteret County Home Builders Association.
